How can I use AE and Item Tesseracts together to get items into machines?

I've got a MFR tree farm a few chunks away from the base and want to supply the Planter and Fertilizer with saplings and fertilizer using ME Export buses.

Getting lumber back into the base is simple. The Harvester pumps it into an Item Tesseract and in the base is another tesseract connected to an ME Interface in the ME network. Getting items back in to the ME network via tesseract works nicely.

But how do I get items out of the network? I've tried already to connect the tesseract at the tree farm to an Import Bus, to a Storage Bus, tried to connect it to another ME Interface, tried to create a sub network. Also tried to change the settings in the tesseract. They are normally set to Send/Receive, but I also tried other combinations. No luck so far. It seems to only way is to extend an ME Cable all the way from base to tree farm.
Could probably just use BC pipes, but then I would have to deal with overflow etc. So I really would like to only use ME blocks.

Does anybody have an idea, how to get this working? Or is it impossible to do?

Well I did use tesseracts once in a similar manner to do smelting recipies. Interface>Tesseract>Tesseract>Machine>Pipe back into tesseract so the interface also puts the goods into the networks. (Yay for saving resources!)
That doesn't really fit your problem though. The problem is unless you set up another ME network, nothing is going to know where to go. I'm not even sure an interface will send to an import bus. So you'll probably need some temporary storage, enough to hold it while it decides where to ship it.

Tesseracts connect fine to the back faces of MFR blocks that eject items (harvester), and any side of a block that uses items (planter/fertilizer)

I use a remote AE 'control tower' in my base (some bug with tick-threading- the entire network needs to be within a single chunk or items vanish)

Farms->AE
Tesseracts can pump into an interface, or just use a chest + import bus
AE-> Farms
Export bus-> relay-> tesseract

I have 2 floors dedicated to this- upper sends to a specific machine type, and lower sends out specific resources.​

You'll want a storage bus and a DSU for each type of output from the farms

Thank you, this is the part that causes the trouble.

Does that mean, you need an ME Export Bus/2xTesseracts for each item that you want to export into the remote machine?
(i.e. Export Bus for saplings and Tesseract in the base + Tesseract attached to the Planter, Export Bus and Tesseract for fertilizer + Tesseract attached to MFR Fertilizer?)

What you're trying to do is directly connect AE to a tesseract, as in treat the tesseract as if it's a part of the network..
That won't work, because tesseracts are not AE and never will be, what you have to treat tesseracts like is a pipe. You direct stuff into them, they come out the other side, I think if you thought of them that way, most of your problems would be fixed.[DOUBLEPOST=1375221958][/DOUBLEPOST]

infrastructure wise, this is the easiest way to do it, may be the most efficient without chance of something going wrong too.

For a low cost solution, you could have a "tree farm" tesseract band, one in your base that AE sends saplings and fertiliser to, and another one tesseract at your tree farm, connected to a diamond pipe which splits out the items to where they need to go. This runs the risk of wasting items if you don't signal that it's full, or bounce the items back to the tesseract for storage in your AE.

Thanks Adonis, that makes sense. And pretty much answers the question.

Then I guess, the best approach is to spend the 40ish ME cables into the farming area. Then slap an ME Interface on the end of it and build a sub network from there. I don't want to have any ME Level Emitters within the main network, but within the sub network I should be able to go nuts with anything necessary to control the tree farm and the future MFR farms that will feed the Bioreactors.

There is a very Easy solution for youre problem:
1.place tesseract
2.Connect it to a very big chest(diamond or something like that)
3.Connect the chest with a ME Import Bus to the ME acces terminal (it has to be as near to the chest as possible)
4.Enjoy ;D
