Hello, new to the forum, not new to ftb. Played a lot of unleashed in 2013 but then eventually quit because my computer wasn't up to it and gave me constant headaches from low fps, litterally.

Recently i had another go after updating my pc to better hardware, which eventually lead to me hosting a techworld 2 server most evenings for use by 2-3 friends and myself. Lately one of the friend hosts the server, his PC is top notch and barely even notices it.

Been having a lot of fun, but as it turns out, big wtf moment. Automatic mode in the ftb launcher installed version 1.16. and downloaded the corresponding server to match.

Never noticed until yesterday, oops, big reactors behaving all useless and not scaling properly, no Reactorcraft Handbook, no HTGR parts. Big WTF moment.

Yep, outdated shit.
Time to fix it. I don't have the current server files, my friend has em, but i have an older backup and ported that into a 1.17 server and it seems to work just fine. All the changes are there, no bugs, all good.

Anything to keep in mind ? Any possible sources of world corruption ? Bugs ?

For my mods, ensure you are using the latest for whatever MC version you are using - v25z for 1.6.4 and v4c for 1.7.10.

No such thing. 1.1.7 is running the 23 versions of your addons and that is what i am sticking with.
Why ? Simply because of the ongoing magnetostatic engine nerfs. Basically....electric machinery is amongst the simplest, most dead reliable, cheap source of mechanical force on the planet. In real life that is. In terms of materials required and machining accuracy. Simpler than a steam engine, simpler than a combustion engine, and WAY simpler than any turbine engine. Like orders of magnitude simpler.Especially since the rotational dynamo, the inverse equivalent of the mid tier Magnetostat , is dirt cheap. Machines which, again in real life, would be over 80% the same. Certainly a lack of suspension of disbelief on my side, sure, but one rooted in eternal and evident real life facts of electric engineering.
I really like your addons reika, but that particular nerf is just too much
:p

Btw....only getting one minor bug:
Getting your mod handbooks for everyone on server join again and again. Obviously we can just trash em. Base got a waste collection and deletion system. :p

Your funeral (and lack of any mod support).

Then what in Lemming's bodacious goggles IS redstone flux? I know it's been said that it isn't power, but no one really described it beyond being treated as a unit of energy per tick.

My money's on it being a waveform frequency from alpha radiation that refined redstone gives off.

He described it as magitech and a "minecrafty" take on power. Internally, it works the same as the Forge fluid system.

Can't take public criticism,Reika, can you ?
Hillarious, unprofessional response mate.

Not that it would matter, it also doesnt matter what RF really is. It's just a game and with the easy conversion between energy types i have always been treating all but MJs as electricity.....people fit stuff into their heads the way it fits best, i suppose.
Story over.

How is it "Hillarious, unprofessional", telling you that your world is a ticking time bomb and that you will receive no support when reporting any bugs, seeing as they are likely already fixed? I try to help, and I get rebuked for it.

Ahh, now i get you . I thought you were pissed off and trying to troll me. I recently had to rid my life of some friends who could not handle differences in professional opinion and turned that into huge drama."You are bad person" level of stuff.Touche. Glad you are not one of "those people". Sorry that i assumed otherwise.

You were simply stating the obvious, yeah. No support for outdated stuff. Makes perfect sense.:p
Which begs the question why that bleeding Techworld installer installs a version from 2013 when set to auto and still not the latest version when set to 1.1.7.
IT world, you so silly.

No major bugs detected and if something pops up, it is the price for playing an older pack. A pack i chose because some of the other packs have a habit of bogging down older computers, techworld is really sleek by comparison. And has everything i like.

All good, all fine. As to the magnetostatics....im probably going to admin the upgrades because i will long term power the extractors for our base with a HTGR driven steam turbine anyways. Which is, resource wise, basically simpler than upgrading the magnetostatics to anywhere near that power level. At least in v 23. Which is hillarious. :D Without invoking any fancy physics, that is really funny.
