I was setting up my 1.5.1 mod-pack today and was playing and saw something that caught my eye...

I present to you, the advanced nanochestplate! :D
I thought this was amazing..
I have always wanted some early-mid* game jetpack/armour...
I also like the blue dot in the middle :3

Does anyone else think this is awesome? *Omicron pointed out it is relatively hard to get.

is the poor man's gravychestplate, is a jetpack + advanced lappack (advanced jetpack) + a nano chestplate, that makes an advanced jetpack that gives protection.

This plus the addition of Advanced Solar's downgraded solar helmets makes for an incredibly awesome early to mid game powersuit.

Cool! Now is this as useless as that Gravi Suites I made? (could not get that pile of UUM thing to work no matter what I do!) Good thing Modular suits is way easier than that stupid suit that won't work.. And not a single Iriduim down the "drain".

Funny how you call an upgrade to an upgrade to a device that requires nether access and an established IC2 workshop "early game".

I'm aware that everyone defines these terms for themselves, but really now. This chestplate is more expensive than a standard IC2 mass fabricator plus recycler plus a set of geothermals and a nether pump to run them with.

I don't know about you but I already have the nether and a mining turtle within 15 minutes from start, which is enough to get a simple compressor and some alloys to get the chestplate.

One of the first things I do is create redstone conduits for power transfer. For that I need hardened glass. For that I need pulverised obsidian. For that I need obsidian. For which I need lava. What's the easiest place to find lava? The Nether.

So there. That's why I tend to make a portal straight away. One of the first machines I build is an igneous extruder.

Not to necro or anything, but with the 1.1.2 Ultimate update for 1.4.7 out yesterday (or was it the day before?) I've just now been able to get my hands on one of these. Remarkable piece of armor. However, I had spare advanced alloy from before the patch, so it was stupid easy to craft this.

Crafting this in ultimate now becomes somewhat more tricky simply because greg added the plate bending machine, which as far as I can tell is now required to craft any mixed metal ingot, since not all the plates have railcraft ways of making them...

Either way, the nanoplate chest armor was kind of in an awkward place IMO. By the time you can craft one, a jetpack occupying the same slot seems more useful, so, hooray for finally having 9.5 armor and the ability to fly!

You have to charge it, and then there are specific keys to press to make you fly, jump etc. given that it's you though, you probably wouldn't be able to work out that you need to power an electric piece of armor...

Agreed, I appreciate a before end-game armour option

*early game
*early-mid
*mid game
however you want to define it.
