lol, never said it was fun.. but it's just part of the process.. kind of like boring mining at the start. You mine until you can get a quarry going, then you're free from doing it after. Or searching for watermelon/killing wither skeletons for heads or something. Problem is that none of those take 2 days. >.<
I've never been bored mining at the start. I'm either caving, or branch mining, and I do enough of it before returning to the surface and working on my house, switching to expanding my farm or something. Things can get annoying perhaps, when I can't start AE just yet as I don't have enough certus, and mining, manually, for certus, would be boring. So I don't do it.
Searching for watermelons is searching for villages. Exploring is always fun. I take a map, and boots of the traveller / sigil of the air.
Wither skeletons. I admit I don't know how to face this in vanilla. But a skeleton spawner of any kind moved to the nether makes quick work of this. I guess I could automate it, but I always build a bit of an arena to fight the skeletons in.
Minecraft is huuuge. There is no call, ever, to do anything boring. And mod authors who 'require' boredom, can go and *expletive* quite frankly. For all that they have otherwise contributed free content we should be thankful for.
