Back in my Tekkit days a year ago I used to use the IC2 miner as a preferred cheap auto-mining solution. Its non-destructive to the landscape and sucks out all the goodies in an area below the miner, and to the side a few blocks depending on what scanner you install in it.

In the config of IC2, there's a setting where you can tell it what ore blocks to mine. In case anybody uses it, I've collected a list. I'm hoping its complete. If anybody knows of a block ID I missed, please let me know.

Considering that dark diamond is paired with the dark emerald and lapis, I would guess that is the diamonds you find in those abyssal stone spheres. Just a guess though

ooh that must be something I'm not familiar with yet.

Also after testing my config, it seems the miner can't mine bee hives, or that gravel for some reason.

The gravel is meant to be mined with a shovel, and it only spawns aboveground. It's added by Tinker's Construct.

So you can remove that from the list.

And rock hives are meant to be mined with a scoop, not a pickaxe. Remove those too. It's just killing bees, and the miner gets nothing in return.
