I've been playing Unleashed/Ultimate and other packs, but I was just curious if there is any news on 1.6.2? I've looked around google and the FTB forum for about 2 hours now and couldn't find any solid answer as to any news on it. I have a mod that I would like to work with FTB but only has forge compatibility with it's 1.6.2 build so I have just been waiting for compatibility and an update on mods. I've seen a bunch of spreadsheets but most of them are outdated. I was trying to look for some private pack codes as I saw some mentioned but didn't see any.
Any news on 1.6.2?

Sounds flippant, but it's actually simple truth
The FTB team's official stance was "not for at least another month, maybe two" when Unleashed & co. got released, and that was July 20th. In other words, less than a month ago.
I'd try again when August turns into September, honestly.

Thanks, you and Omicron were the only one to reply that actually had an intention to help. However, I've found that already and isn't quite what I was looking for. The threads that I found I saw multiple people talking about an official private pack for 1.6.2, and everyone was telling them to google it, and wouldn't give them an actual response. I tried googling it, however, and I found nothing.

I've seen plenty of people talking about it but everyone said to google everything and no one gave any straight answers. I saw some talk about some official private packs for some of the mods (i.e. FTB Ultimate, Mindcrack), and everyone said to google it. Couldn't find anything.
Rest assured that there are no official FTB packs at all including any possible betas/alphas for 1.6.2 as they are still waiting for key mods to be updated or for stable versions to be released for. If you look at the spread sheet linked earlier it clearly outlines which mods are updated and which ones are still being worked on. Once all the required mods are ready to go then and only then will there be any news about possible betas for packs. As for when this will be the only ones that will know are the mod authors themselves and not the FTB team.
hi guys i jus wanted to make a quik post hear onthe forums to ask a question i jus wanted 2 make sure that ftb is getting update to 1.6 and wen is this gunna hapen? ftb is my fav thing 2 play an i want it to be in 1.6 so i can have a hourse an ride it around my mashines. i use the new minecrack pack because i like ethos the mos out of all of them and he is real cool. thx 4 the help guys jus wanted to make sure

I think its a valid question. As i understand it the FTB launcher doesn't support 1.6.* modpacks due to the changes in forge. My modpack is one mod for been able to launch but I won't be able to add it to FTB as its not supported as of yet. So the real questions it when is there a version 2 of the coming out, haven't seen any announcements in a while?

It makes perfect sense. The main FTB packs can't be updated without the mods they consist of being updated. So even if the launcher gets finished...the packs still have to have the updated mods...
