Any idea if the ultimate pack will add anything world gen?

I want to start up my server and I'm really liking the Mindcrack server there are a few missing mods like mystcraft but can't I just add that myself? Have not tried yet but should be easy enough just edit modpack and point to it..( Did that with a few things Like additional pipes in the Beta a Pack)

But I'm curious what this "Ultimate" pack will offer I can't imagine many more mods in it then theres already in the Mindcrack pack.. Can anyone think of any mods that might be put into the Ultimate pack that might be worth just waiting for that pack? Especially anything that has any world gen involved?

All the worldgen mods are in. The only problem I foresee is that Thermal Expansion apparently has another ore up its sleeve that it hasn't implimented yet, but that's unavoidable.

So mystcraft is really the only mod not in the Mindcrack version that will be in Ultimate? ( I already know that the gregtech settings will be different but honestly I plan on going into the config and tinkering it to my liking anyways)

If its only mystcraft thats easy I can edit that into my mindcrack pack I'm just worried about and mods that might not be easy to install myself or world gen stuff.

Looks like they are adding mystcraft to the Minecrack pack in a future update as pointed out by a mod pack dev - http://forum.feed-the-beast.com/threads/an-actual-update-to-ftb.4796/#post-56229

Only reason it was not added is that the mod was not ready yet due to a last min delay. Also note that their is a issue with mystcraft for 1.4.6 where you crash when ever you use a descriptive book if you added it to the minecrack pack. This is possibly due to a bug caused by the rushed update or the mod needing a higher forage version than what is in the pack. I've heard both so not 100% sure either way so it is best to avoid it for the time being.

Mystcraft does need a slightly later version of Forge than Mindcrack currently has, unfortunately, I guess as a result of bad timing.

I think the Ultimate pack will have a few more additional mods besides mystcraft. Portal being 1, but I also think EE will be in there and probably some other mods from this list: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet...T2dnQVMySHdrS3c&single=true&gid=0&output=html

I don't think any of those change anything in world gen though and it depends if you want to use any of those (personally I'm quite interested in MineChem for example, but it looks very beta atm, but I won't use EE for example). I've also heard there are some compatibility issues with mystcraft and mindcrack pack atm (people having games crashing when going through portals and whatnot), but I don't know how severe/complicated those issues are. I don't think trying anything can hurt though.

MineChem is on the google docs page.... Also, GregTech will be in easy mode or disabled completely. There will probobly some other differences too

I like gregtech so I wouldnt want it disabled... Tho I MIGHT go through its configs and mirror the hard mode recipe changed from the beta pack because I felt those settings were good.

Hmm I wonder whats up with mystcraft not working with the pack.. I hope someone looks into it..

And thanks for that list of mods

Mystcraft should be added to Mindcrack by default, it is just that it wasn't out when Mindcrack came out and it now requires a later version of Forge which may screw some other things over. So just wait for the FTB team to resolve it.

Yeah I know, but the disclaimer on the google doc says that those mods may or may not be in certain packs. I'm assuming ultimate will contain all/most of them, but I've heard nothing official about that. There are also some mods that might get implemented that aren't even on the google docs list. Additional BC objects for example is in the "needs to be updated" section in the suggestions topic (which would mean it's accepted, just not up to date, right?), so I assume once that gets updated to 1.4.6 it might appear in some packs.

If I am recalling correctly from something I've heard so far, the Ultimate Pack will have GregTech but it will be disabled by default. Those of us that like it can flip on the switch. :D

I believe they had to update forge to address some mystcraft issues.

I haven't exhaustively checked the versions of all the mods in the Mindcrack pack yet, but those I have seem ok with Forge 474 (needed for Mystcraft 1.4.6). I've tried swapping out my forge version using multiMC and the resulting jar seems stable enough. Has anyone else tried it and run into problems?

Yes, I realize that, but I just didn't know if you were aware that it was at least under consideration (It will probably make it into at least one of the packs - maybe Tech World?)

Either it will be completely disabled or it will be enabled without hard recipes.
