Another question from the noob...lol

Hi, still going in my new world and loving it. Built and lost my turtle in a lava disaster...lol. got my quarry up and running. Got my enchantment table going and some other machines. I decided to go for a wonder and found some interesting things but then found this in the middle of a jungle. As you can see there are pigmen spawning around it. There where 2 but since I have been posting this there are around 6 now. It looks the same as the totem poles so I take it it is from thaumcraft?

Don't want to take anything from the chest in case the pigmen have a fit...lol.

Yes, this is from Thaumcraft. Go ahead and take from the chest, the only thing that will piss off the pigmen is to attack one.

This will be a rather important structure once you have certain research topics completed. I'd definitely make a note of it.

Also, since pigmen have a chance of dropping gold nuggets, it might be worthwhile to you to farm them with SoulShards for a renewable source of Gold.

Thanks...Stuck a pin in the map for this one. Found the reason for all the pigmen. I dug under the structure without touching it and found a spawner. It is directly under the chest.

No harm in just mining the structure itself out while you're at it. You're going to need those totems later on once you research

Even though it's made of obsidian, the totem and tile blocks seem to mine just fine with iron.

Thanks. Working on my base at the moment and I'm thinking of adding them in to the decor. I am making a tower and have the bottom the way I like it but still need some ideas for the top....Any ideas?[DOUBLEPOST=1359907415][/DOUBLEPOST]Or am I best to start a new post for this?
