I use a personal modpack that I built on a base of Magic World 2, with mods added from Monster and Horizons. With the recent update to those three modpacks, I rebuilt it. I went a little overboard adding new mods (I went from 86 to 116 mods in the pack), and I need to trim it down.

HOWEVER, in my first test of that modpack something magical and wonderful happened... I cut down a tree and all of the leaf blocks decayed within seconds of breaking the last log.

I do NOT want to "trim down" whichever mod did this... but I have no idea what it was.

I know that the Thaumcraft Axe of the Stream has that effect, but you're saying something now adds that across the board? Ohgods. I need this!

No, it doesn't do anything to the wood blocks, you still have to cut them out by hand. It's just when the last wood block in the tree is destroyed, all the leaves decay very fast (unless they're supported by another wood block in a nearby tree). It was very helpful in clearing out an area in a thicket biome.

I know what you meant. Trees cut down by the Axe of the Stream have had increased leaf decay for a while now.

Ah, I didn't know that... I haven't yet progressed that far in TC4. So yes, this is the same (or a similar) decay effect. It's an incredible time-saver.

I'd like to know which mod that does too
I deactivated some mods which i do not like (also to reduce lag) and now it is gone. :(
Does anybody know?

which ones did you disable? Turning them on one by one until the effect is observed would be a slow and painful way of finding out the correct mod. As would looking up which ones you disabled and praying for documentation.

I too would like to know what mod does this so I might partake of its glory.

Well i didn't really care at first because i thought its a feature of bspkrs Core (u need that for Treecapitator, thats how i came to that conclusion), else i ofc would have done that^^
I have disabled alot of mods, currently i only have 70 active because my pc sucks. I am not in the mood to enable and disable one after another. Maybe tomorrow. I'll let u guys know :)

There's a few mods which influence decay rates, but I've defintely noticed it between either Dye Trees and/or Highlands.

It's definitely not Highlands... I took that out of the pack before I noticed the leaf decay. I don't think it's Dye Trees, because the Dye Trees are the only ones that have had some leaves (not all, just some) left behind.

I'm trying to go through and look for which mod could be doing it, but the Launcher is apparently having some issues right now and I didn't bother to copy over a clean version of MW2 before I started adding stuff.

Was one of the mods removed "Random Things"?

Oh wait, someone else has posted in this thread, let's see what they say...

Reading the changelogs, I see:
RandomThings 1.8.9 (introduced to Monster in 1.0.8) has a new config:
B:FastLeaveDecay=true

Just tried turning it to false and leaves decay normal now, so there you go.
LOL, I just found that myself.

If someone finds any issues with this please tell me :).
I am not really sure whether that affects any Automated Farms.

It should not affect the harvester since that removes leaves first.
Same thing with Steve's Carts tree farms, those remove the leaves as they go.

There was another mod that had something like "improved leaf decay algorithm" (DragonAPI, I think) in the Monster 1.0.8 change logs... but if you're using 1.0.5 I have no idea what could be doing it.
