So, I've had this idea for a while (but I am severely incompetent and cannot even attempt to make this idea come to fruition) but basically it's like a modpack with a specific purpose. A little preface before I start (skip this if you don't want to read it) like many modded-minecraft players, sometimes I get bored when I don't really have a purpose and I'm just doing stuff for no reason. Everything in this game is goal oriented, from the first night with the goal being finding suitable shelter to survive to the end of the game trying to obtain your last ender eye needed to get to the end. And factories and automation are very fun and satisfying to a lot of us and we love to do it whenever possible (hopefully!) and some will automate the shit out of stuff if it means they get to make a system. So moving on to the point the idea would be a modpack focused around making a sprawling and efficient factory and producing the most goods. These goods could be anything, it could be any trivial item, Jaffa Cakes (ey), but something more industrial related would be more fitting. Based on the complexity of the item produced and the amount of it that is produced a player is awarded points. The points are more for bragging and the real end goal would be to automate some real complex shit. But another factor of the game would be instead of using auto crafting tables, you would need to build different types of machines to serve different types of purposes, almost like a real life factory! And with this realism I think that pollution would be pretty cool like contaminating water supplies, ruining the grounds around your factory, and 100% smog. Maybe you could get like money or something, or another incentive, but I think that wouldn't matter. What matters most is that long term goal of trying to automate everything you can and obtain the most points. Of course this model would work best on multiplayer servers where it could be real competitive. And this is REALLY kinda out there but maybe a stock market? Based on a companies (player groups like HQM questing mode) performance and other shit (stock market stuff) people could trade the stocks for points or a currency that could hold some weight some how. I don't know if any of this is possible but I definitely wanted to write it down. And if you're a talented young man or woman who also shares my beliefs, ey man just do it why not. Thanks for your time guys.

Sounds cool. Could really see this on a server but with limitations. One of the biggest issues with that is that once you get one fully automatic factory up and going. You can use said money or whatever to just buy the stuff to make more factories. Ruining the experience.

True, and I have thought about this. Instead of using items to buy money, you can use it to buy plots of land. Like skyblock except that the area you can build in only gets bigger from buying more land and not building it. The goal will still remain the same, to get as much money and the biggest factory possible. Ambitious idea lmao.
