Where else?
better integrated graphics in their APUs, useful if you are building a just basic system as it is much nicer than intel integrated.

also, they do provide higher core count in some CPUs. their arcitecture is older and less power efficient, but still something to consider in budjet situations. (they do tend do have worse I/O than newer intel platforms)

From my experience, AMD tends to cost less than comparable Intel chips, while not sacrificing much (if anything) in the way of performance. I've been a lifelong user of AMD CPUs, and haven't been disappointed in a very, VERY long time. I'm not too keen on their partnership with ATI (I'm an nVidia man, myself), but honestly, I find a good CPU to be a greater boon than a good GPU. Though, if you can get both, I would definitely suggest a good AMD CPU and nVidia graphics card. One thing to note, no matter what you're building with, is to make absolutely sure that your CPU and motherboard are 100% compatible. I got burned on that with the initial build of this machine; the mobo couldn't handle the full power of the CPU (8 cores running at 4.4GHz), so it cut the CPUs clock speed in half. I believe it had to do with the older mobo not being able to handle the wattage the CPU required to work at its fullest, so make sure that not only your CPUs sockets match, but that your mobo can handle the amount of wattage your CPU requires.

the question is that games do you play, if you just play games as call of duty, csgo, minecraft, etc thats more ram/GFX based then AMD is fine but if you want to play like arma 3,dayz etc your only gonna get 20 fps in those games what ever you do(as i do have a fx 8350 and a gtx 980 and the cpu can hadle the game and then i got a new cpu i5 4690k then i got near 100fps,)

so if you want a cpu that can handle ALL games go intel and its a fact,
im still a amd fanboy but then it comes to them lacking on the cpu in most of my fav games then i would take a intel if i was you:)

The games i play?

-half life franchise
-portal franchise
-modded mc (duh)
-skyrim
-borderlands2
-rct3
-(planned) wolfenstein the new order
-darksiders
-tf2 (rarely)
-(also planned) kerbal space progam

You could say that i mostly play single player games that are a little bit old

Thx for the advice

I actually made this tread out of curiosity
Because i already have a intel i7
With a clock speed of 3.7ish per core
But only a onboard graphics card
