AM 2 crafting altar won't connect to anything

Hey everyone,

I am having some trouble getting started in AM 2. Here is what I have:
A light Nexus
A crafting Altar
A mana battery
An essence conduit.

I have already figured out that the light nexus apparently cannot charge a crafting altar directly. Building the altar next to the nexus leads to the altar apparently permanently changing it's essence to light (indicated by a light blue color when using the MagiTech staff) and not receiving anything.

So I tore it down and rebuild it out of range. I used a mana battery to get energy from the nexus to the altar. according to the in-game book, the mana energy should convert everything to neutral. But the battery won't supply energy to the nexus. Neither will it connect to an essence conduit and from there to the nexus. I can't figure out what's going wrong here...

Have you flipped the lever on the altar?

Yep, that didn't work. Apparently, mana batteries no longer convert. Building a regular essence nexus helped.

AM2 could use some improvements on user feedback, but your altar does in fact connect. You just need to pull the lever so it starts pulling the essence. Of course, if you didn't already know this you wouldn't be able to tell...
