I am using levers. Lots of them. Problem is, I don't like how they look, they don't fit the style of my base, so I'm looking for alternatives. At least, any switching method I use should look less wood-y and cobblestone-y but a little more futuristic. I would prefer something more elegant but still mechanical (i.e. not a touchscreen, that appears inappropriate for things like a main power switch).

What options do I have?

Computercraft terminal.

Just set a simple program to act like a lever (basically, input a single command and it'll output a redstone signal behind it). You can even just make this a short pulse and have it output into an RS-NOR latch, then it'll stay on until you input a different command, at which point it'll output another redstone signal from another face and trigger the reset side of the latch, turning off your signal :)

Doesnt that involve a touch screen of sorts?

Well, it's not like CC terminals come with their own mouse and KB now is it?[DOUBLEPOST=1406896847][/DOUBLEPOST]But if you're hellbent on mechanical switching devices, you can use invisible silent pressure plates. You can hardly tell they're even there, so they blend in with the decor.

Just have to remember where you put them.

Carpenter's Levers and Buttons can be retextured with pretty much any block, although the levers still have a wooden handle

The Switches mod is part of Monster I've discovered, and these switches look modern while still giving me info about their state (unlike buttons and most other options). Thanks @Omegatron for mentioning it and everyone else for their suggestions.
