If the world is still in your save folder, but you can't see it in game, there's a fair chance it's not the world, but the player.dat file that's corrupted. Try making a new world, exiting, then coping the player.xxx files from that world to the old one. If you can see the world in game, you're golden, though you may need to cheat in anything you had in your inventory.
Singleplayer doesn't use player.dat files, only level.dat (which contains a copy of the data that would be in your player.dat in multiplayer).

Thank you kind sir. because of you i have been able to save my single player world that i have been recording on. just need to get back all the items I had before and i will be able to keep going
Also I just added the world state checker mod. Hopefully that will save me in the future.

I know this is an older post but I found a solution that can help fix agrarian skies world. The modpack uses Aroma1997 and that backs up saves. To get the saves, check the folder where the agrarian skies folder is located and open the folder: backups. Then follow the folders to the date you want to "revive" (The date goes year > month > day) take the zip folder and unzip it in the saves folder. This will completely backup your game (to the point). I think the mod saves a backup every 30 minutes.(You can change the time in the config folder labeled aroma1997 and the file AromaBackups)

(If the backup folder is not in the main root folder, check the config folder for aroma1997 an d open the file AromaBackup and check where it saves backups)~~

Hope it helps anyone!
