I'm playing Agrarian Skies and have reached the mass submission quests in Hells Kitchen and For the Hoarding, and I need some help finding the best ways to get the mass crop quests done in the shortest possible time.
Im currently doing the "Leafy Greens" quest (50k lettuce leaves) and am only 5% of the way there.
Currently I'm using a planter-harvester system with platinum upgrades and have explored a few ways of increasing growth speed:
I have a fertilizer going but 4 sewers aren't producing that much sewage even with 6 or so cows nearby.
My bone meal farms are too far away from the farm and tesseracts crash my game. I don't want ugly pipes that block off half the base either.
A Thaumcraft Lamp of Growth would be nice, but I don't know how to set it up properly nor do I know the range it's effective on.
A Sigil of the Green Grove is my most effective solution, but it's still taking too long, it's boring walking aroung through my fields the whole time and I keep have to recharge it.

Any tips on how to get these done faster? I still have the tomato one to go after this =-=

Another thing to note is that every so often my MFR plater and harvester jam. When this happens the idle bar is full and the machines -and all other nearby machines in the system- stop operating. The only option is to break them and replace them. This makes offline farming with a chunk loader pretty damn hard...

Your problem is that you are using upgrades. They upgrade the range, but not the speed with which the machine operates, which means it's going to lag behind. Here's a better idea:

You do nine plots in a 3 x 3 grid of 7 x 7, with tin upgrades and nine sets of planters and harvesters. You'll harvest things nine times as fast.

Kay, so I've made 9 7x7 farms and they all seem to be going fine. Still, it's still a little too slow for my liking, I'm only on 12% still.
Any good ways to use the Sigil of the Green Grove? I made one and the growth rate is much, much better, but I don't feel like walking around and holding out the sigil for hours. Any way to automate this? I heard there was a ritual but I think that's a later patch.

Ritual of the Green Grove. Check your diviner and see if it is available. If not, there's a few other ways.

Number one is Thuamcraft. Lamp of Growth isn't too hard to come by, feed it Herba essentia, which is obtainable via leaves (exactly one herba each), or as a byproduct from refining a bunch of other things. Watch the plants grow!

Number two is going to be Bound Armor. When you build it, you can put stuff in various slots. If you put a Weak Blood Shard, a Sigil of the Green Grove, and a Master Blood Orb into a piece of armor (three different slots), it will automatically always be active, and consume no LP whatsoever. Have fun.

Number three is the Fertilizer from MFR. Consumes Industrial Fertilizer like crazy, but also dramatically increases growth rates. You'll want one for each of your 7 x 7 plots, so nine of them, and you'll need a way of feeding them all industrial fertilizer constantly. If you've got livestock, a Sewer produces liquid Sewage, which goes into a Composter to make it.

Another question: In setting up a Ritual of the Green Grove, it needs constant LP. I can set up a Well of Suffering with a villager auto-spawner no problem, but how would one get the LP from point A to point B?

It runs on your soul network. That system with the well of suffering should be ok. Just leave your orb in the altar

Just built one, and it turns out I need more villagers for it to run properly. Sigh, I'll have to build another mob grinder in that case. I think I'll put that on hold and make some Lamps of Growth for now.

If I remember correctly you can turn the villagers into witches with the witch water. Then put them in the well. They heal themselves and shouldn't die in the well.
