So my mod journal world is being annoying. I'm considering never playing 1.8 again on any world just to be safe. but anyways, 6 months ago I joined. about a week later Jadedcat retired. one of my favorite modpack authors quitting was not the best welcome. since then this forum has become a big part of me. I am on every second I can Manage.

anyway, I am starting another mod journal, this time with some more mods.

I can relate to the world breaking, had four worlds get corrupted on me in 1.5 for no reason what so ever. Good luck with the restart.

if you use the vanilla launcher you can change the location where it looks for the saves and other profile specific data per profile.
So you can put the 1.8 instance in for example D:\games\minecraft\vanilla and your modded instance in D:\games\minecraft\some name here
this way even if you open the wrong profile they shouldn't show the same worlds
