AE2 Channel issue

Hey,
I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong here, I've got a dense cable with a branch of smart cable that's being used up with 8 channels, but when I start a new branch of smart cable it is already filled with 8 channels even though there's nothing attached.

Any ideas what's going on?

if there is no controller then you get a ad-hoc network that can only handle 8 channels total.

Where anything branching from A/ad-hoc and not the C/controller directly will show the issue you described.
