I don't think computercraft integrates directly with AE, but you may be able to have some redstone set up where it emits a redstone signal if there are items in a certain ME chest, and then you could have computercraft set up right next to the redstone and have it display some image of a block or something when it receives a redstone signal. If you expand it heavily, you may be able to get a huge line of redstone that can determine the exact number of items you have.
It shouldn't be too hard to set up yourself, although it may be a bit manual. On the plus side, you can show 4 items in a single space.
