Description:
ExtraCells is the first Applied Energistics Add-On, implementing quite some very usefull functions. EC began with just being an Add-On for bigger Storage Cells, but after that it evolved into the AE Fluid System. Thanks to EC you can now store Fluids/Liquids in the network, on storage cells or in real tanks, using the storage bus. Apart from fluids, EC also contains some usefull things like a backup battery, a ME Dropper and a fully customizable storage cell, which you can upgrade. And finally, my Blast Resistant ME Drive protects your storagecells against creeper explosions

Requirements:
Java 6 or later
1.5.2 OR 1.6.2; latest Forge!; Applied Energistics rv10-n
AE rv14 or rv13 needed for 1.6.2 release, rv14 for 1.5.2 release and everything else for 1.4.7 release!
You can adapt it on http://ae-mod.info/Dev/ or http://ae-mod.info/Downloads/

Installation (Client/Server):
  • Install Forge if you haven't done it yet
  • Download ExtraCells
  • Put AE in your mods folder
  • Put ExtraCells in your mods folder
  • Play

The 1.4.7 and 1.5.2 versions are not upwards compatible due to new APIs. ExtraCells 2 (for AE2) wont be compatible with earlier version either because it's a total recode...

I do like ExtraCells, but could you get a more "AE Style" art ? Because larges cells don't look like AE. That's not a big problem, but ...

I had some textures which looked like the "normal" cells from ae, but in cyan or so... you could look into the old zips on my dropbox, if you want :D

The higher-tier cells look alright, they feel like a step-up which is exactly what they are to an extent. I do feel like the fluid cells up to 64k should match the item cells from base AE a bit better like the fluid storage components do, while you could re-use the current textures for the higher tier fluid storage cells instead if you implement them. Also the almost-exactly-vanilla texture of the ME Item Dropper is bothering me, could you swap out that cobblestone-looking back-texture for the texture used for ME block sides and see how it looks?
Also, just a thought, when you update the Backup Batteries to automatically receive and send power to the AE system as needed, could you make the Energy Cell placeable with the "old" functionality?
Also does the Certus Quartz tank keep it's liquid when picked up like a portable tank does? I don't want to lose the liquid I have stored before I try wrenching or breaking it.

to the CertusTank: shift-rightclick it, then it will drop with its fluid in it :D
to the energy cell: afaik in 14 OR 13 you can place the energy cell fro mae, i wanted my battery to differ from it... but i can make a button which switches modes for it (like i/o buses, onpulse, ignore, on redstone, on non-redstone)

I cant seam to find a way to format my fluid cells? or am I doing something wrong? I woud love to have it so I can say, only oile in thise one and so forward.
