So I was thinking about modding minecraft to add some of the new dungeons/areas/mobs/etc that I've seen on youtube and that look pretty cool. My only problem is that I don't really like the idea of having multiple dissimilar tech and magic systems on top of the default ones; I'd prefer my world to be more uniform as far as my advancement and crafting go.

So given this I'm looking for advice on what mods would add new content to tackle without having machines based on different types of energy, or such. So far roguelike dungeons and twilight forest are looking like good options. Any suggestions for other mods?

Chocolate Quest is a nice option if you don't mind pre-canned dungeons(they are pretty sweet, mind you). I also suggest Doom-Like Dungeons, a fun mod with a crap ton less stuff then roguelike dungeons, but they are different in terms of aesthetics for each dungeon, and occasionally each room. Bit chest heavy by default(might be configurable), but Lycannites Mobs has a patch for 'em to spawn it's mobs in the dungeons, so pick your poison. Also has dungeons in the Nether(and the occasional staircase to above the bedrock roof to boot).
Biomes of Plenty isn't the best, but it does have a awesome nether overhaul. Watch out for hell bees, as they are jerks. Almost as bad as that Guy Made Out Of Bees.
