This idea came from me watching one of Direwolf's videos of him making a golem using Thaumcraft 3.1, using soul sand to make a golem.

Now, using Animus from soul sand, something with origins in the Nether and have all sorts of nether-ness, seems a bit more "malevolent" than using other sources of Animus. This "malevolence" might rub off on things and impart certain qualities into the final product. If too many "malevolent" objects are used they might have unintended effects (i.e. Golems becoming agressive). This might apply to other things as well, like too much good rubbing off on an "evil" object during creation making the device faulty, or too much violence on an explosive making it dangerous to handle.

This sort of evil may be in the form of other aspects not in the creation of the main product, but it could be something else.

Controlling these "impurities" could be another major aspect (pun not intended) of gameplay, and could liven up the crucible a bit, maybe with things attached to the sides like the alembics or other crazy golden doodads for extracting (or maybe injecting) these strange properties.

Edit: If this is in the wrong section feel free to move.

Well there's that post above me, and also the fact that TC4 is already being tested via Forgecraft 2.

Pardon me? I tried to help; he posted a suggestion in a spot where the person who would need to read it won't. I even took the effort to find the link for him. How useful was your reply?

Sheez.

There is already an aspect for malevolence, though. You'll find it on ghast tears, for example, and on zombie brains. And Azanor deliberately did not place it on soul sand. Maybe he considers soul sand to simply be the remains of souls unfortunate enough to end up in the nether... there's nothing malevolent about that.
