Hmmm.. something to think about. I've spoken with others and we think we'll limit the community to 10. Thanks for your input. I'll definitely keep it in mind.
yeah but its just the thing though, even with a few players on and such, there is nothing out there that can stabilize a server with no lag at all and with at least like 50 players, and the person who had said this was slow himself. He has not found anything in order to prevent any lag, your always going to run into that situation
I use "The Minecraft Host" and they have been reasonable price wise and service wise. Our server generally has 7-10 players on and we only experience lag when someone is generating Twilight Forest or Mystcraft ages. Myst is the more problematic of the two. But otherwise I've been happy with this host and their pricing. If you do decide to start a FTB server for mature players/parents of Minecrafting kids please send me a PM, I'd be into joining. I've been using Envious Host and they seem pretty good, I've been getting some pretty heavy lag lately and I think it might be due to the IC2 issues that DW 5.01 introduced. If you are still looking to start up and Adult (mature) server, let me know. I'd certainly be interested.I might have got you or the thread autor wrong but in my opinion its not about a family friendly server where the adults can play together with the kids, but a server just for the adults, without the younger generation.
But you both expressed much of how I feel. I'm not in a race to loot every chest in Twilight first, find all the villages & temples to pillage for myself and go horde diamonds. I'd like to get with other adults who are interested in building a community; farms, factories and all the goodies that these mods make possible. I too could care less about gravity guns! I feel like I've only scratched the surface of what you can do in these mods and when I watch what Direwolf and his friends do on his server it makes me wish I played with a group like that where I could learn more, build bigger and not be worried about who's looking in my chest and are they going to steal stuff. I don't care if it's Direwolf of Mindcrack, I've played and enjoy both. I'm really looking for some adult gaming friends who share my passion for FTB and who'd like to see how far we can take a new world. I'd also have no problem chipping in $5-10 month to quality, lag free hosting. While I do enjoy the time I play with my kids, I'm interested in some time where I don't have to be mommy & teacher. Look forward to the possibility of playing with you all.
