Adding mods to FTB packs

I have learned a new respect for the creators of the mod packs. I have been trying to install Thamcraft, Thaumic Tinkerer, and Thaumic Exploration for a few hours now. I keep crashing. The main crash is when I shift click something from a crafting table. Is it possible to add to the FTB Unstable pack? If it is and I am doing something wrong ill see if I have a crash report to upload.

Unstable was designed to be a testing platform that mod authors could use to update their mods from 1.6.4 to 1.7.2. It was never meant to be for survival worlds or anything other than testing mods and their compatibility.
So I would very strongly recommend that you don't add mods to Unstable, choose a different modpack.

I think the FTB team had to remove Thaumcraft when they updated Unstable from 1.7.2 to 1.7.10, so your best bet is to wait for Azanor to release the next update. I'm relatively sure the FTB team will put it back in when they can.

I doubt that, Botania is at version R1.1 98 ATM, in the Unstable modpack it's at Beta 21.

Unless you're using an older version of FTB unstable (i.e. one the versions before the pack was shifted from 1.7.2 to 1.7.10) you will get crashes as a result of adding thaumcraft. Azanor has not yet publically released Thaumcraft for 1.7.10, and a quick skim through his thread on the minecraft forums shows that the 1.7.2 version of thaumcraft does not run well on 1.7.10.

It's definitely possible to add mods to unstable though, I added Flaxbeard's Steam Power to my Unstable world and I'm having no issues as a result
