Like the title says, is there any way to add new worldgen to a world without having to restart the map? I would like to add Applied Energistics to my existing world, or at least have the quartz in the world for if/when Direwolf20 adds it to his modpack, but I really don't want to restart my server.

If not, is there a way to move the existing structures to a new world with the same seed? I know MCedit exists, but I have never used it and I'm reading about mixed results when using it with anything but vanilla.

Thanks in advance for any help that can be offered.

Download the latest unstable release of MC edit, install it, then upload your world into mcedit and open it, then select the area you want regenerate and click the the repop button (But please for my sake and yours BACKUP your world before doing any of this) also there is a side effect of this where redpower volcanoes spawn everywhere (it did on my world anyway) but you can quickly remove them by reloading the chuck or chunks they are in. :)

So using the repop button will regenerate the selected chunks with the new worldgen rules? Is there a way to do this for the entire world and just exclude certain chunks (the ones with structures built on them)? Also, what are Redpower caves?

Be careful about using MCedit though, because the last time I used it a few Fir trees close to my house turned into piston trees.

That is in the the recommended release of mc-edit though if you download the un-stable version (latest) you should be fine

Yes and you can include your house in it because it won't effect it, sorry i meant volcanoes (*corrected)

Awesome, thanks for the help. One other question: can you elaborate on removing the volcanoes? I've never used MCedit before.

Select every bit of area that the volcano takes up and then go into chunk control and delete the chunk (Now this will reload the chunk so i would advise taking out any basalt around your buildings in creative mode) This is a bit tedious but I don't know any other way of getting ores into an existing world. I can put up screenshots if you want

:) If its still of any interest to you I found another way of getting rid of the volcanoes. It seems a little less tedious, just select everywhere or just every place the volcano is and go into the fill and replace option and then replace whatever the id is for basalt with the id of air and then exact same except with lava thus deleting all the volcanoes

that's pretty bad but I had the same amount on my world i would advise going into chunk view to reload chunks or just do the method above , on another note though it is definitely a bad bug that eloraam needs to fix
