Acclimatiser - Am I Doing This Right?

So I've been doing some basic bee breeding lately, and came upon a Modest Queen in a village apiary. From what it looks like, they're from the desert (T: Hot, H: Arid) and I'm residing in an Extreme Hills biome. I'm trying to use the Acclimatiser to make it able to use in this biome.

After some basic research I found out that I'm supposed to use snowballs (or ice) to change its temp for my place, and water capsules (and other water sources) to get it used to a wetter climate. I've used over a stack of water capsules, and 8 stacks of snowballs (128 of them), yet the stats still say T: Hot and H: Arid.

I'm just wondering if anyone familiar with the mod can help me figure out if I'm doing this right, as I'm tired of wasting time on something that really seems to be having no effect.

With an Acclimatiser, the higher the tier is, the harder it is to go up. I guess that means the same for going down, but I may be incorrect.
 
I would say keep at it, it took two stacks of lava cells for me to get a forest princess to the stats I need.
 
The Acclimatiser likes to eat stacks over stacks :(
When Snowballs/Snowblocks/Ice are your Problem, you can build Thermal Expansions "Glacial Precipitator" togheter with Water (Aqueous Accumulator) and Buildcraft Energy.

But when you can, build the high tier Extra Bees Machines. There are Expensive, but there are Greate!
You can Steal the Temp. and Humidity "Both 2" Trait from Rocky Bees.
 
Yeah, the neat thing about the Acclimatizer is that the trait actually is genetic - not only is it inheritable, but it can also be isolated, replicated, purified and inoculated with the Tier 3 machines.

Of course, you'll want to be careful - in the newest version of ExtraBees, impure serums will cause nasty things to happen to your bees...
 
Honestly if you have a good enough UU production you can make snowballs and then compress them into ice blocks is what I did for my Direwolf20 single player world for 1.4.7
 
Eh, don't waste UU for snow or ice when you can make them faster with a TE machine called Glacial Precipitator. It only needs 2MJ/t and a bit of water that can be supplied easily by an Aqueous Accumulator.

But it does take a ton of stuff to change the bee. If it didn't the Acclimatiser would just make it pointless to mind the climate at all because you could just change all your bees to what you need instead of the other way around.

PS. The thread is 6 months old, I'm sure the original issue is solved.

It might be a necro post but anyone know how to get a regular Rocky bee to both 5 tolerances?

You need to find the bee with those traits and use the Isolator on extra drones you get of that bee to put that into a serum vial and then put the trait(s) on a princess and a drone of your desired species with the Inoculator. For better chance of success you have to use the Synthesizer and Purifier on the serum first.

Ice is better than snow to lower the temp, and you can make ice from snowballs in an IC2 compressor.

bee with tolerance above 3 cannot bee found. you have to create such with acclimatiser and then isolate the trait.
