Accidental Squid Farm

So my quarry mined into an opening with the black stuff that gives you wicker, and it got bigger and now squids are spawning in it and dying and i just walk up to it and get stacks of ink sacs and other squid stuff. haha has this happened to anyone else? can the black stuff hurt my quarry should i remove it,?

As far as I know it won't be able to hurt your quarry, but if were wanting to use the quarry hole for anything it probably would be good to remove it now, as it's a pain in the butt to remove it later.

Interesting. You could make a small pool of that stuff with one block leaking out into a channel where the ink gets collected by a hopper or something.

It is sludge as far as I know, but I did think it had the same properties as lava. (squids won't spawn supposedly)

Had a squidfarm in one of these Aqueous accumulator cubes once:

Squids kept spawning inthere, so took advantage of it. Squids have this behaviour where they will at all times try and get to the deepest spot in the pool. So made a funnel leading to a shaft which had one horizontal exit which had flowing water leading away from the shaft. Once the squids got into the shaft they would eventually get caught in the flowing water and get carried away with it and beached on land where they died right next to a TC Hungry chest Free Ink sacs.

I'm getting sooo many ink sacs wow just from my quarry chests and even more by jumping in the hole wow
