Hi guys, I want to know what the best way to get a fortune 3 tool is. Should I just stick to the vanilla diamond pickaxe, or is it easier to get the fortune 3 effect on a tool from a mod. If so, which?

Thanks

If you manage to have 450 lapis before you have easy exp and an enchanting setup go with the mod way, otherwise vanilla is generally faster.

You can throw on a bit of lapis on to a tinkers construct pick or hammer and it gradually boosts the level of fortune on it up to level 3.

I believe it's something like 1 lapis added every 20-30 blocks mined for a reference point.

Yes, I was doing the lapis approach, just wondering if its worth the time and if there's an easier way to go.

If you're on monster then gathering some geostrata crystals is far easier. I usually get fortune or silk on 1 out of every 4 level 30 enchants with vanilla. Not to mention with hammers(Mining ore that gives experience) and such(smelting loads of cobble) it's easy to get 30 levels and doesn't have to be a main focus to initially get it.
