A bit of help with RP2 sorters please?

My typical IC2/RP2 auto-processor usually has one sorter sending items to buffer iron chests above my advanced machines. I then have filters moving stacks into and out of the machines, all sharing one RP2 5-10 sec timer. Then 1 to 2 filters on the output to send dusts back into the system for further processing. The iron chests buffer more than I have ever needed, even on massive Nether Ore runs back in the modpack-which-shall-not-be-named. Anything that doesn't get taken by the RP2 sorter gets sent on to storage.
