598 Barrels now what

ok i put together a sorting system that has a total of 598 barrels in it now i would like to set up an automatic system that would refill a chest with items i would be using all the time without ending out with items bouncing all over the tube network for 30 mins because the chest they where headed for was suddenly full

It will only send items around when the chest is missing stuff.

Golems, I think it's stone ones that keep a specific number of items in a designated chest. no messy logic, no messy pipes or transport tubes.

the server im playing on is running mindcrack i dont think it has golems enabled btw is there a wiki link or a video showing how the manager's interface works

Last I checked mindcrack had Thaumcraft, or maybe that is only version 8. But Stone golems do exactly what you want, keep a set amount of items in a designated chest from marked supply chests.

EDIT: Yup, just checked The FTB WIki, unless someone disabled it you should have thaumcraft, just check NEI.

well the server has thaumcraft disabled because people lets say caused some chunk issues with it

Then I can only suggest regulators or counters, they are the only two decent options for getting a set amount of items into a chest. And off the top of my head even a counter would be hard to set up. Best to use a regulator.

EDIT: Thinking about it, a counter, timer, state cell and wireless reciever with a remote wireless transmiter could fill a chest for you on a button click. Just hook it up to a sorting machine.

well i was interested in in the sortron and the manager and the idea of just typeing the item number you want into a computer and pulling it that way or just haveing a manager work to keep the chest full of like Iron Tin silver copper basic building blocks
