What is the bug:
Loaded Minecraft for the first time in a while and suddenly my world has dissappeared. Followed usual advice of replacing level.dat but did not change anything. Any ideas?

Of course, not loading the world means no crash report is being generated so i can post the most recent one only but that was a month ago, and ive played quite a few times since then.

UPDATE

So managed to get the world to appear with a level.dat replace, wasnt copying the session file before (oops).
Now i can select my world but then it crashes on startup. Thankfully this means i have a crash log! if anyone could help, i would appreciate it tenfold, put hours and hours into this world, stupidly didnt back it up.

a file simple achievements need is at best corrupted. I actually have no idea what happened to it.
Can you write the exact things you did?

So i started SF2.5 up after like a week without playing and the save selection didn't show my save. So i followed the steps seen here:

I started a new world in creative to replenish some inventory, followed the steps and then it appeared. However, once i click play, it crashes out of minecraft. Could the problem be that the new one was in creative? My original save was survival with no cheats allowed.

That shouldn't cause any problems. At least, not anything that would crash you. (at worst the game now thinks its a creative world with cheats enabled). Anyway, to fix the issue I would guess you can try removing the simple achievements files inside your world. I would recommend to make a backup of them first though.

It worked! Kind of...
So the world loaded up and i managed to find my base and everything looked just how i left it. It was when i tried to open a chest that another problem arose. Game struggled and then crashed, never opening the chest. Got another crash report if you could help?
