Why did this thing spawn? Is it supposed to? I don't like where it is terrain wise and am wondering if I can find more if I start a new world.

Is it a glitch?

That would be a Natura redwood. Not at all a glitch.

If you dislike them, in Natura.cfg you can find
Code:
    B:"Generate Redwood Trees"=true
And flip true to false.

LOTS of wood right there.
dont use an axe of the stream on it. yes, that works on it.
its even bigger than the twilight forest oaks and those will cripple you with the lag. you think everything still works, then you realize all the inventories are inaccesable due to the sheer lag.
i imagine treecapitator has similar lag issues with these things.
burn it if you must. leaves a large hole though.

Treecap doesn't work on those trees.

Has anyone found a way to deal with the leaves? I chopped one down (or well, half of it) for charcoal and set the leaves on fire but the fire doesn't spread as well as it used to and now I have a whole bunch of leaves floating in the sky.

Guess a filler would work, but is there any way that's cooler (like fire)?

A Force Mitt should help you out. It should break whole swaths of leaves in short order.

EDIT: Wish I could find one of those! My turtle will take good care of it :D

Treecapitator does work on these Taco. However it only works once you have made your way to the heart of the wood blocks, it doesn't work on outer bark. And oh god yes >_< the lag! :D

I just found one of these in my world. I'm tempted to hijack it and turn it into a base. An epic tree house base with a hollow interior.

They make a great first base. Its really easy to eek out a multi-level set of 9x9 rooms, PLUS the bark can be crafted into a hidden door -- no more Zombies banging away all night

Gah, now I want to know what it does while I still have to wait 5 more hours before I can go home!

AE's take on the Mining Laser.

it's a "Precision Mining Laser" In a sense.

Ammo doesn't get affected by gravity.

Instantaneous firing nearly.

Won't light stuff on fire.

Fires up to 30 blocks from where you're standing (It will break 3 / 4 / 6 blocks before stopping, depending on ammo).

Needs ammo (matter ball, or iron / gold / lead nuggets) and power.

It's funny reading some of these...
"Don't use Axe of the stream or Tree cap on it, your game will lag badly."
"OMG THE LAGGG >_<"

(No offense intended)

What kind of damage to mobs do lead nuggets do?

InstaKill. Kinda. On pigs.

5.5 hearts. :p, making it arguably the best projectile weapon.

It passes through mobs, and destroys blocks afterwards. but won't damage other mobs, strangely.

Max range for mobs is 15 blocks away, Instant hit from even 15 blocks away :O

The fact that it ONLY shoots if theres blocks and mobs detected in its range is real useful. No ammo wasted. Plus Bats.
