I'm new to Feed the Beast, and was previously using Tekkit. I was running the 128x Sphax Tekkit texture pack with very little crashes (maybe one every 12hours). I'm now attempting to use the 128x Sphax FTB texture pack. Shown Here: http://bdcraft.net/forum/128x64x-feed-beast-beta-pack-texture-pack-add

The problem? I crash instantly or within 1 minute. I usually run a server and play at the same time on my 8GB of RAM with a 128x texture pack. I can't even run single player with 128x Sphax + The FTB addon. Why? I have 8GB of RAM and according to task manager it never exceeds 70%.

I have tried setting the launcher to 4GB, all the way up to 7GB. I've also set java parameters "-Xms512m -XX:permSize=128M -XX:MaxPermSize=512m". Any help would be appreciated, I cannot stand default textures and this is really holding me back from playing FTB. Java is up to date and i'm running 64bit version. :(

Thanks.

Seems I fixed it. It was caused by having a 1GB page file oddly enough, even kept crashing with 2GB page file. I set it to 4GB and crashes are gone. Seems like java wants a large page file for what seems like no reason.
