I have tried multiple times of making a modded server takes to much time and looking up in google to do what kinda stuff, just to much time consuming to make one,I think I might need help on making a modded server, do you have any any contacts that I could contact you, I know how to make a survival vanilla server. But new to modded servers, I would appreciate it if you help me , no time rushing just take your time. thanks :D

Whenever I try and load-up the server for the modpack I continue to get an error which states that I do not have a library with fml/forge in it, I am debating if this is just a bug with forge though.

OK yes there is an issue with the server download

1) i believed that FTB added forge to the server download zip as we are not alowed to ourselfs, this was wrong and you have to install that manually.

2) somehow a client only mod "better title screens" got into the server zip, thats totally my bad and no idea how it happened, go into the mods folder of the server and delete the file named "BetterTitleScreen-1.7.10-1.1.jar"

I recorded a video while i diagnosed the issue, its uploading to youtube as i type and may be of more use then the text (1080p 23 minutes so wont be immediate)

Here is the text fix :

1) download the server from the ftb launcher
2) create a folder called server on c drive (can be anywhere but im using that as the example)
3) download forge installer from http://files.minecraftforge.net/ version 1277 (installer NOT installer-win)
4) run the installer by double clicking it and tell it to install the server to c:\server (or where ever you created the folder)
5) open the server download from 1 and extract the contents of server folder into the server folder on c drive (or where ever you created the folder)
6) create a text file in the server folder and edit it to give it this line "java -Xmx4G -Xms4G -XX:permSize=256M -jar forge-1.7.10-10.13.2.1277-universal.jar" the 4G is ram, change as needed
7) rename the text file to start.bat, or save as start.bat, the file should now have cog symbols, congrats thats a batch file :)
8) double click the start.bat.....the server will start to run but at this time it WILL error out, thats normal.
9) a eula.txt file has been created, this is mojangs way of making sure you agree to thier terms and conditions, open it up in a text editor and change false to true, save the file :)
10) run start.bat again this time the server will load

NOTE, thier are a lot of errors as the server loads, this is normal for minecraft and a modded enviroment, they can be ignored. i have been playing my mod pack on a server for about 6 weeks with out issue (its how we test new versions before i release, and why im so confused the better title mod snuck by undetected)

The mod issue will be fixed in 1.0.4 but that wont be untill a couple of key mods have updated and been tested

i use https://www.trueworldgaming.com/ for the test server, currently it is running the pack plus "lots of mobs mod"(had planed to include that in the next update but it has had issues in singleplayer and is a bit of a resource hog, just not got round to removing it) on thier 4gb diamond box deal (about £6 a month) it has been very good, no block lag, a few spikes when new terrain has generated, but hay thats usual with a pack this large.

I do recommand setting the server up to do a dialy restart just to keep it all fresh.

on a seperate note, the next update will be around the middle of the month (now were fairly stable it will be monthly updates untill 1.8 is more widely adopted.)

Okay, so you had to do it manually if there's were no version of this specific kind of forge that supports this modpack, I am curios about because i might buy a server. Like the redstone package.....

Well sort of, this is what i did
once you have your server and you log into its control panel there is a drop down menu to choose the server jar file, loads of options. I choose a forge 1.7.10 one (any will do) and told it to load up, this gets all the library files etc
shut it down
then ftp in and change false to true in the eula file
load it again, let it get right to fully being done
shut it down.

ok on your pc make the server (just like i show in the video further up)
make sure it works

then you want to rename the forge jar to customer-256m.jar

upload that jar with your ftp and the mods, flan, config folders, might be others too that have slipped my mind (im typing this out rather shattered after work lol but it will be clear when you do it)
delete the world folder from the server (it was created with the forge we used at the start)
*optional using ftp edit the config file of the server to use biomes o plenty as the world gen (i cant remember what you change it to but google will help there)
*optional 2 if you have a single player world you are liking have a look at the world folder before you delete it above, should be a trival thing to copy the save across and rename it world (or set the config to load your save instead of world) and use that as the server world
select customer-256m.jar in the drop down menu and load the server

the 256m is important, basicly using this option means the server will assaign 256mbs of permgen

to setup the daily restarts, in the web terminal choose advanced and then scheduled tasks, should be clear from thier.

hope that helps, right im off to sleep lol, dont worry it all sounds way more complicated then it is and once set up, updating is a doddle.

Is there any possible chance Mekanism will ever be added? Aside from being one of my favourite mods the only downside is the fact RF is fairly easy to generate with it, so there's a negative for you if you dislike that sort of thing about mods.

im a big fan of mekenism (specially the factory units, make for very compact setups) might re-look at adding it if its switched to RF from UE then i will re-look at adding it (UE and its newer replacement, cods aused a few issues before)

As for the ease of rf generation, thats fine, one of my main driving forces for this pack is to make it fun, if a player wants to use easy methods to generate RF then they should be able to :) of course i left harder methods in for those that want the challenge.....I myself fall somewhere between the two, im more then happy to use easy methods while playing around (and filling in the holes made by) the harder methods :)

Isn´t Mekenism running on RF in the Clouds of Darkness Pack? There is a config option for EnergyType in the config file, but i don´t know if it is just the displayed type.

well i have the week of work starting tonight, the update is coming along but still needs to be tested on the server, plus mekanism items need to have emc values and needs to be checked for recipe conflicts (yes its been added to the pack) so this months update may be here before the end of next week (sooner if theres no complications)

i got afew questings about this modpack:
-will the modpack has its own offical server public(with almost non items banned and able to place chunk loaders but maybe limited still)? since non modpacks removes that annoying AE2 channel systems(as i wish more will do and this is like the only modpack i found that do this+if non modpacks do this then non hope for a public server aswell with AE2 tweaked to be like AE1) so i can do my barrel room and not limited to like 32 barrels since i using ME system kinda for stuff i dont have farm for so my ME system is more like a overflow/mics. stuff+storage busses on barrels
it also gives the feel of a warehouse thing to have items not in some drives so the items kinda feels more like data files in MC then Items
-i see mekanism is coming or else i would have asked for that
-will tubes! mod or Refined reLocation mod(maybe both) be in this modpack? (my fav. item transport modpack) dont like to use buildcraft pipes so much becuase of the way to get pipes into the system and i like to have pipes where you can see items fly in instead of pipes like ender IO and so on where you cant the see items
-speaking of buildcraft can this mod here be in the modpack: http://www.minecraftforum.net/forum...418-wip-buildcraft-utilities-buildcraft-addon
it gives us some good stuff for buildcraft
-change chisel mod out with the chisel 2 mod since it has a auto chisel thing that works and alot more building blocks

and if Magical crops add a recipe for the Oil seeds since they still not have made that but they have made it so you can get oil from it

To make sure the pack stays stable on a server i pay for and run a test server, not able to afford to run 2 servers so there shant be an official server from me (no point making the test server public as well thats the test server lol, we have had 3 map resets and countless bugs, we get them so you guys dont get them in the released pack :) ).

I will take a look at tubes / refined reLocation, Magical crops and the linked buildcraft addon (i make no promises as the pack is pretty full mod wise at mo and i dont want to hamper performance too much)

chisel 2 should not be an issue so long as it respects chisel 1 blocks (dont want to break players existing worlds) if it does not then it will go in the 1.8 pack that will most likely need a new world anyway(but judging by released mods and the new forge stuff is a long way away)
EDIT: i feel stupid lol, we are already on chisel 2

Aroma1997's mining diminsion caused some issues on the server (bad chunks and was dropped before the pack was even released) the inclusion of mystcraft means there is an alternative though i know its not as convient or easy to create a mystcraft world

An update on the pack:
Theres a bit of a bug with Open Turrets we are waiting to get resolved (turret blocks seem to lose owner data so are then indestructible to all....rather a nasty bug!) but other then that we are mostly good to go (and that includes mekanism added )
test server has been running the pack since friday night with no issues (beyond the open turret one)
So once the bug has been fixed i will submit it to the forge team to be approved (no ETA)
