Mac 1.6 can't get above 20 fps

Hi guys, I can't seem to get much above 20 fps, no matter what settings i try, it spikes up to 80+ and then immediately drops down again, I have no problems with vanilla so I'm pretty sure it's not a memory thing, I've allocated 4GB, and I've removed opis and some other greedy mods, but it still does it. any suggestions? or anyone else having the same thing?

FPS is based on hardware there is hard to point you in a direction I recommend trying to lower setting to remove the strain on your computer.

Not always, I heard of a lot of people, including myself, that get about 60-100 fps in 1.5, but getting about 5-10 fps in 1.6. It's a well known problem, and I think a few people are working on it. Also, if it gets to the extreme, you can just add the mods to vanilla MC and not use FTB. That's what I've done. FTB is too derpy right now for me.
