1.5.0: Can't make coal ore in witches oven

What is the bug:
I followed the instructions for making coal ore, specifically, putting coal above a flammable material in a witches oven with a clay jar present, but the process will not start. I have confirmed the witches oven works for making charcoal from wood.

The recipes the witches oven shows can be... odd and buggy. Chances are, if it isn't making a Witchery mod item, it probably doesn't actually work. Not sure why these illusory recipes appear in the oven NEI entries, but usually safe to ignore them.
