Hmm whilst I'm all for new updates, it looks like they just can't help themselves and have changed the obfuscation yet again, which means all mods will be broken again 
Yeah, but at least it doesn't look like anything that will need much more than a simple re-run of MCP's obfuscation program. MAYBE a small change involving issues with the netherbrick slabs, and depending on how those enchanting books are made, Mystcraft may need to change one recipe. All of those are pretty simple changes, so we shouldn't have to wait too long after 1.4.6 for mod updates. PLUS Fireworks are the best thing to accompany the FTB mod pack's release, right?

I still can't still believe after 6 official updates for 1.4, there are still things that are broken and annoying bugs that haven't been fixed...
If you read this eloraam... please work on getting redpower out for 1.4.5 before working on a version for 1.4.6.
Then it occured to me that Mojang reads the redpower thread on MCF and their sadistic minds find the wait fun. Hence they delay Elo time and again.
I think Mojang is following the rest of the gaming industry that is running out of ideas. Before you know it, Minecraft will be a first person shooter.
I'm just waiting for 1.4.6 to come out and a giant, "lol, oops" to happen and suddenly we're at 1.4.8. 1.4 is the pretty scary update alright, I'm scared Jeb is turning into Notch.
Why is everyone getting their panties bunched up? 1.4.5 was an attempt to fix allot of bugs, hell allot of updates attempt at tackling bugs, yet at the same time add a new feature to keep the public interested. Is that really such a terrible thought process?
Yes allot of things do break during their patches, but they atleast manage to fix things, it's just a difficult balance as every game has some bugs to iron out, especially a Sandbox game like minecraft. which makes me frown when someone says "Baw a new feature that isn't related to something" excuse me but would anyone be really entertained with minecraft if it just ended where notch dropped off, merely to focus on squashing bugs? I highly doubt it, as allot of handy feature have come in since Jeb took over. Coco bean trees and new world options, sheep regrowing wool... Animals use diffrent foods rather than wheat! you can put wheat seeds to use with a chicken farm.
I just don't understand how anyone can complain about fireworks being added when the majority of the update is geared towards improving redstone mechanics. Hell plenty of people asked for fireworks too as a way for celebrating or creating a certain affect. Allot of the things added are great tools for adventure maps. Hell fireworks would really be nice for the end of the FTB map when it's complete! Imagine that giant pyramid, tossing in all those items and at the end FIREWORKS GALORE!

The reason people are complaining (people like me) is that fireworks really have no place other than an adventure map "woohoo. You won." Then there's the bats, which really have no use in any way whatsoever, and all the other random stuff such as dying leather, cobble walls, item frames, flower pots, which have no other purpose other than aesthetics. Yeah it's cool stuff, but there is a lot more that could be done with Minecraft than making a few things pleasing to the eye. Don't get me wrong, I think it's cool stuff. I just feel that it's a waste of time. Minecraft just seems to be getting farther away from the direction it was heading before. Nowadays it seems more like Mojang is just fan pleasing than making game enhancing updates.
Going by that, you could effectively say that the whole game is effective pointless. Considering that minecraft is sandbox game where you just go around killing, building, and digging, I would say aesthetics would play a pretty big part of the game. Also, bats have no use? They give a nice atmosphere to the cave networks in my opinion, not to mention their squeaking can help you find caves while digging. I'd say that alone is pretty darn useful. Yes, there is stuff that needs to be done, and there are plans to do it, but if all they do is focus on just fixing bugs and not adding in new content then the game gets old. Hell, even with the new content people still look for mods for additional content.
Yeah, it is a sandbox game and aesthetics are important and such. It just seems new content is kinda... slow... Azanor has practically made a new mod instead of updating one, and it carries ten times more content than any Minecraft update since 1.3.2 (I'm considering the internal server update as content). It seems like Mojang sits in there little office building more or less throwing random ideas at each other than actually coding the good ones.
So play Minecraft with mods installed. You stated a free solution to the "problem."
Notch had a bad habit of pushing the version number higher and higher on old updates to apply quick fixes that often broke as much as they fixed. Any time I see the version number starting to creep higher and higher, I start having Notch bug fix flash-backs.
