Open 1.3.4: 1.4.0 infinity - mystcraft - can't create new ages

What is the bug:
updated my single player world to 1.4.0.

now creating a linking panel and putting it into the book binder does not create a descriptive book. tried adding other panels, empty paper, same result.

maybe related to that:
1. nei doesn't show an entry for linking panel.
2. my old descriptive books still work but when right clicking on them, the large image on the right side of the book isn't shown anymore.

bug? feature? anything changed to the mystcraft mechanics?

Receiving same symptoms.

Entering a name / title of the book in the top left black box is a workaround.
