The current directory (also known as "."), instead of being set to the specific modpack's minecraft folder, it gets set to the folder where the launcher resides.
This then leads to the appearance of mod files where they shouldn't be.

- Start the launcher and select Direwolf20 1.5 (recommended version)
- Look at the folder containing the launcher
- Notice the folder tree
- ./config/ (contains denLib's config files)
- ./jacob-1.17-M2-x86.dll
- ./jacob-1.17-M2-x64.dll (only on 64bit platforms)
