Open 1.2.0: FTB Infinity extremely resource intensive

What is the bug:
I´m not sure if it´s intended but i don´t think so:
FTB Infinity (I´ve modified it a bit ->exchanged TiC with GT and added ATG)
takes almost 30 minutes to start up at my pc (I allocated 3.75 GB RAM)
and even after starting up, the game is still lagging a lot.
I uninstalled a couple of mods (BibloCraft, Natura, MystCraft, TwilightForest, etc.) and it is still lagging like hell.
I don´t think my PC´s too weak for FTB because FTB ultimate worked without any problems.

I already found out that GT can cause a lot of lag, but I tested GT alone (ofc with IC2) and it works completely lag free.

So here´s my question:
Is FTB Infinity only made for the best High-end PCs?

Im quite sure, if you remove ATG and lag will be gone. Try that....

A lot has changed since Ultimate, and 1.7 is a lot more inefficient than 1.4. I was able to play Ultimate at 60 FPS on my old shitty laptop, which has since died, but I am certain that Infinity would not play nice with it. The lag is caused by a number of things but ATG is known to cause some lag especially while near mountains. The load time is in part to GT, as it does a lot of stuff when interacting with other mods. But just for the sake of experimentation you should run an unmodified version of Infinity to test this load time and lag. It is entirely possible that it is your computer.

btw, is ATG also a reason for Mc being unable to create maps due to this lag?
