Hey all!

Me and a group of friends often tend to get back to Minecraft after a few months of not playing it. So far we've played the 1.7.10 Pack and FTB Infinity Evolved Pack.

Now my question is: With a lot of mod developpers switching to 1.10 should we wait to start a new server for a new 1.10 pack or just go with the old 1.7 packs? Is it even likely we'll see something like a FTB infinity for 1.10? Etc..

If my questions needs more clarification feel free to ask, English isn't my main language but I'll try my best.
Thanks!

They're working on an infinity pack for 1.10. It's still alpha so there's still a bit of a wait.

As for whether you move from 1.7.10 to 1.10.2? That depends on your groups choice. Both versions have their pluses and minuses. Plus if you're still having fun with 1.7? Why switch? It's all about the fun.

Thank you for you answer. The reason why we can't decide is because we think most mod developpers will move to the newer 1.10 and we'll miss out on updated mods :) Can you give me a link where I can find information about the new infinity pack?

With 1.7.10, the mods and modpacks are pretty much as finished and stable as they are likely to get. Expect no changes and few if any more bug fixes.

With 1.10.2, mod dev is still in the early stages. Mods you like may not be available or may be incomplete. Expect big changes and major bugs. You get to play with the new toys, but don't be surprised if the wheels come off from time to time.

For me, 1.10.2 runs much better than 1.7.10 ever did and I like having the new toys, but I am also waiting patiently for Thaumcraft 6 and 2/3rds of RailCraft before I call my custom pack complete.
