What is the bug:
Whenever tesseracts are placed down or warp item ducts are activated, the game lags big time. I go from 40-50 fps to single digits.

Are you on a Mac? There was an issue with the new warp rendering that caused something like this. There is a config option to handle it, or maybe update to the newest thermal expansion.

You can disable it in config/cofh/core/client.cfg with the line

Set to false to disable shader effects in CoFH Mods.
