I haven't yet had a need to store liquids beyond ~100 buckets or so. For seed oil and honey, I'm using wax capsules and that's more than fine.

However, I've bred my first decent sapling tree and am about ready to start making Ethanol for TE3 Dynamos for ExtraBees machines. My power usage, while spiking already when I'm online vs. offline, will soon get very spiky, so it would be nice to store ~1,000 buckets or so of Ethanol at a time.

Would appreciate advice on liquid storage and power gen in general in MF2.

Appreciated,

If you have Rail craft you can use their iron/steel tanks to hold thousands of buckets.

RC tanks are my usual goto, Railcraft is not in MagicFarm2, and I'm kind of glad. MF2 is forcing me to do things in ways I hadn't done before, largely because of Iguana Tweaks and Hunger Overhaul, but also because BC and RC aren't in.

I believe Extra Utilities adds drums that you could use. Might take a few, but it'll get the job done. There's also the OpenBlocks tanks that would allow you to store some liquid, it'll just take quite a few.

I would go with the Extra Utils Drums. In theory you could make a structure out of TE Tanks that would be similar to a RC multiblock tank in function (they auto connect if stacked on top of each other, then you just add fluiducts to the top and bottom the same way you'd connect to RC Gauges) and get much higher densities than the old "wall of liquids" BC Glass Tank storage systems I used to use.

It would get pretty expensive to upgrade them all to Resonant tanks tho. At Hardened level a 3x3 flat multi-block would store (32x3x3) 288 Buckets. Make it a 3x3x3 cube, and you've got 864 Buckets, almost what you asked for, at the cost of :108 Copper, Invar, & Hardened Glass per cube. And I believe that is the next most efficient after the Drums. I never realized how much more efficient RC tanks are for liquid storage compared to pretty much everything else, until this.

Perfect, thanks. I had forgotten that ExUt and OpBl are in MF2. The ExUt drums look cool as hell and fit the theme perfectly of a combustible fuel. A row of drums behind a fence beside my power generation building/shed should fit nicely in the world.

Does MF2 have ExtraCells? 'Cause fluid storage drives are stupidly efficient.

Guh. Can't believe my first post on here was a reply to an ancient thread that someone felt the need to bump. Thanks, @Not_Steve, that was really nice. /s
