1.0.1: Unable to craft sticks or chests from Vanilla planks

What is the bug:
I am unable to craft sticks or chests using vanilla planks using the vanilla recipes.

the only work around is to either cheat them in, or use the tinker part maker to make wooden parts that take up half a material. chests suffer from this bug as well. the only way to craft chests using vanilla materials at the moment is to use logs and craft 4 at a time.

do you have any other mods installed along with the pack? i cannot reproduce this issue.

i dont have anything else installed. though like an idiot i forgot to restart the game before posting this to check if it was that.

I think there is a bug with the vanilla wood, for some reason i am unable to make jabba barrels using birch logs, if i use birch to make the chest and slabs and use another wood type like oak for the logs it works fine but the birch logs themselves don't seem to register for the barrel recipe.
