1.0.1: NEI causing crash when looking up recipies

What is the bug:
In game, whenever pressing "u" or right-clicking an item in NEI while in inventory causes an immediate crash.

[I have uninstalled some non-core mods since the discovery of this bug yet it still repeats.]

Can it be repeated:
opening inventory and pressing "u" over any item.

Removing Numina and Modular powersuits fixed this for me. Both of these mods are dev builds and seem to be very buggy.
