1.0.1: Direwolf20 Blood Magic Bound Blade Bug

What is the bug:
I have recently completed the binding ritual and gained my bound blade. I have bound the blade to myself and it states that I am the owner, however if I attack a hostile mob with the blade it does not affect them. There is no hit effect and no reduction in hearts. As well as this the texture for the blade is completely off as seen here - http://prntscr.com/56gatp - .
If I am unable to gather shards then I cannot progress further with blood magic.

Are you sure you activated the blade? I think it is shift-rightclick normally. Also make sure you have enough LP in your network, because the bound blade will need it. Also don't forget to deactivate it.
