0 fps Increase After Major RAM Upgrade

I've heard quite a few times that RAM is a very important component for FTB, and I planned on upgrading my ram anyway. I did a pretty major upgrade, went from 4gb of reallly slow ram to 8gb of 1.6GHz. I then set the launcher to use 5gb. Yet when I play the same exact pack as before (direwolf20) I still get 30 fps. Is there something I'm missing here?

I have the newest java version, x64, and all of the arguments from the JVM arguments thread.

Use 2 GB of ram at the most and your video card counts for 75% of game speed. And 30 FPS is fine
