0 Chamber breeder reactor help

Earlier while messing around with the nuclear reactor planner I made a 0 chamber reactor that runs full cycles and creates 6 uranium cells per cycle (The amount for my current reactor). I then (like an idiot) closed the window and ate dinner, Now I've forgotten what the plan was. So does anyone have a breeder with 0 chambers that produces 6 or more uranium cells per cycle and has no chance of a meltdown?

If you do good switches this won't cool down and you can do 4 sets of 4 (16 cells charged with 1 uranium):

Assuming you are bad at switching or let it cool down between each one you should still be able to get to get 12 isotopes charged per one uranium without much babysitting. That is three charges at about 40 minutes each and gives you 40 minutes to spare on the uranium, so during the 3 sets you you can mess up for about ~40 minutes and still finish 12 total isotopes.

Once we have redpower though you should be able to time out almost exactly when an isotope will finish and shutdown the reactor -- or maybe you use RP pipes to automatically take enriched tubes out and put new isotopes in. Either way you may want a breeder design that stays hot while off.

This has one chamber extra chamber and good switching can do 8 sets of 4 = 32 isotopes:

Here a plan a set up some times ago, when the Reactor Planner v3 came out.
http://www.talonfiremage.pwp.blueyo...uyol2emn7bbm0e1f0sfd3kbbui2vpg4oyj3rq2l5cn37k

This layout grants you a Breeder Reactor that gives 180EU/t , full cycle (no maintenance), doesn't need water confinement and gives you the possibility to breed some depleted isotope cells (2 at a time).
You also have the possibility to use only 4 chambers (erase the 2 rigth columns) and to have a 160EU/t full cycle reactor (no maintenance).

There are much better dedicated Breeder designs. Many of the existing designs floating around are outdated since the Reactor changes in IC2 some versions ago, and especially so if you have GregTech.

Here is the a very cheap and simple 0-chamber Thorium breeder, posted by SSD on the IC2 forum:

Here is the best breeder I've seen, posted by Quintine on IC2 forum, as it will recharge 1700+ cells from a single Quad-Thorium cycle:

With the java scare, it is not... diplomatic... to post links to a java ap... how about screenshots?

Yo dawg, heard you liked java? So we're posting links to a java app on this website for a java app so you can... yeah.

And Oracle patched Java already.

Here's an EXTREMELY simple setup for an auto-refilling breeder reactor (get the most out of your fuel rods!)
http://i.imgur.com/e6cP4.png
The sorting machine is pretty much only there for auto-extracting (you can use a filter/timer for this), there's re-inriched uranium cells in the slot, so it pulls out the cell the moment it completes breeding. To the right is a Regulator/Relay, with the regulator being set as so: Box 1 = Depleted Isotope Cell, Box 2 = Empty (it's the buffer), Box 3 = Depleted Isotope Cell x4. The regulator will set a redstone signal when the reactor has 4 depleted cells in it so you don't waste any time not spent breeding. (you need the alloy wire there)

thanks for the plans Truculent ;)
I posted mine cause i found interesting to have a reactor that output 180EU/t and breeds some isotope cells at the same time.
I did not get into math to see if the cost of 1 reactor with 6 chambers is less than a reactor + a breeder.

I didn't say it made any sense.

Speaking of sense, once you have for yourself a good thorium breeder 8 for 1 on uranium cells is a lovely return.

Can you centrifuge or electrolise the resulting cells once you've merged them with the coal dust, that would result in more thorium, right?

You can just centrifuge a stack of Coal Dust for a Thorium Cell. And you can get infinite Coal Dust from a Blaze grinder. Though you may get more EU directly from the Blaze Rod, I didn't check the math... depends on how efficient your reactor design is.

Not that I know of... nothing in MindCrack pack that I could see.
Radioactive bees are the only way I know to get a renewable source of Uranium.
