    You could try disabling TC (Thaumcraft?) in the launcher and see if it is at the root of your woes. Have you got optifine installed? Are you running a texture pack w/o optifine? SSP or SMP? Have any other launchers / modpacks worked in the past much better? Are you launching with a bat file...

    Perhaps I wasn't clear. The thread was started in jan 2013. The instructions were valid as of september 2012. The thread is still open and left with incorrect advice to start screwing with your jar. I apologised for NECROING in advance but thanks for pointing it out again.
