I had shaders running in 1.4.2 Beta Pack A using much the same process. I had to patch the shader mod with some different hooks files to deal with Extra Biomes XL, and patch the texture pack to get it to work in the overworld.
The only problem I had was that mystcraft ages are too bright. Just...
It's entirely up to the Yogscast whether to move to FTB. They've only just upgraded to the current version of Tekkit though, which is positively prehistoric in modded monecraft terms. I wouldn't expect anything to happen soon.

With an impending update to the FTB Mod Pack, I'm wondering if the current Beta Pack A will stay in the launcher so that those of us playing on servers can continue to play until the server's upgraded?
Previous iterations of the mod pack have just disappeared, is why I'm asking...
In a single move, Eloraam's just transferred all the, "WHERE IS REDPOWER!!???" aggro to the FTB team and all the other Mod Developers. I'm impressed. And, gosh, so relieved. Redpower, oh how I've missed you!!! Happy days.

I had a go at replicating Eloraam's turtle army concept in Tekkit, but as there's no ability to interact with inventories I could only do the bit where you had a master turtle spawning and instructing slave turtles, along with navigation code so that they could be directed to specific location...
Sure - but you can say that about any mod. It doesn't solve the problem of why Tubestuff is in the 'will not be added' list when there's no obvious replacement for automatic crafting with Redpower yet.
I got Karyonix's GLSL Shaders Mod and Sonic Ether's Unbelievable Shaders working with Feed The Beast, but not the launcher. You have to put Forge 6.0.1.355 directly into the Jar, then Optifine, then the shader mod (which you need to hack to work with ExtraBiomesXL) and then the Launcher will...
For me EE2 didn't kill my game. It allowed me, after a lot of hard work, to move past basic 'resource gathering' and into a different game which was actually building interesting things for the fun of it.
But that was just me - everyone else on the server got bored and stopped playing once...

I notice that *all* Immibis' mods are on the 'will not be included list', which means no Automatic Crafting Table MkII which is completely devastating - this single block is by far the most important block in my current game :S
So this 'no', is it for all of Immibis' mods forever...
