I think your right. But when I made A world I was able to play until I started crafting. I think it has to do with how the mods are communicating with each other. Maybe its a problem to do with forge. I'm looking for a solution and just letting people know what I've found.
I have been having the same problem and I noticed in the log (yours and mine) [WARNING] "[ThermalExpansion] A mod attempted to overwrite a Pulverizer recipe. To allow this, enable the functionality in your configuration file." So I tried disabling the Themal expansion mod and it made the game...
